Our librarians provide support to teachers and students through book loans, assignment alerts, school visits, and more.

Plan a Visit

Community and school groups are always welcome at the library. School visits may include stories, a library tour, research assistance, computer use, or to check out books. If you are interested in scheduling a visit, please complete our group visit form below. Please schedule your visit at least two weeks in advance, so that we can give your group the best possible service. See our Group Visit Form below.

Librarian Visits to Your School

Our children’s librarians are happy to visit your classroom or school to share stories, present booktalks or research tips, or promote library events such as our summer reading program. If you are interested in arranging a librarian visit, please email Dominique Mendez, Head of Youth Services at dmendez@northlakelibrary.org, or call us at 708-562-2301 x6.

Children’s Kits

We have 32 kits that cover a variety of themes, including gross and fine motor skills, math, colors, music, animals, and more. We are excited to have them available to check-out and take home! Check out all the kits here, or visit the Youth Services Department in person. *Limit 1 kit per household at a time.

Parenting Kits

We have 12 Parenting kits that cover a variety of themes, including potty training,  homeschooling, ADHD, dyslexia, baby’s first year, and more. We are excited to have them available to check-out and take home! Check out all the Parenting kits here, or visit the Youth Services Department in person. *Limit 1 kit per household at a time.

Die Cut Collection

Teachers are welcome to use our Ellison and Accucut dies and equipment. No appointment is necessary, but we ask that you please supply your own paper.
