Book to Movie: Flipped

Have you read Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen? It's a book that "flips" from two points of view: eighth graders Bryce and Juli. Juli starts out in love with Bryce, while Bryce thinks Juli is nuts. But then, their opinions start to flip...

Now, there's a movie coming out based on the book! Check out the official movie trailer here: http://flipped-movie.warnerbros.com/

And check out the book at Northlake! Ask a librarian to help you find it.

Have you heard the news? Playaways are here!

Playaways are the newest way to read a book. They are like audiobooks, but instead of checking out tapes or CDs, you check out a mini mp3 player that's already got the book uploaded to it. All you need are a pair of headphones. You can buy ear buds at the Youth Information Desk for $1.

Here's a list of some of our cool new Playaway books!

  • Waiting for Normal by Leslie Connor

  • Ranger's Apprentice: The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan

  • The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

  • Crossing the Wire by Will Hobbs

  • Judy Moody by Megan McDonald

  • The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin

  • The Great Gilly Hopkins by Katherine Paterson

  • The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen

  • and lots more!

Make sure to stop by the Youth Information Desk to learn more. Check out a Playaway today!
